Southampton Common

The race will take place at The Ave, Southampton, SO15 7NN on June 14th at 10am.

Boasting 326 acres of woodland, parkland, gorgeous ponds, a model yachting pond and a fishing lake, the Southampton Common is a beautiful green space to the north of the city.

A flat course, it is ideal for runners of all abilities.

5K option

This year there will also be a 5K option in association with This Girl Can – perfect for those running their first mass-participated event.

Here are some of the comments from last year’s racers:

‘I was there and I loved it! Such a good atmosphere … ran the last km with a group of women and they got me through the line! Cracking day!’ – Claire Tewkesbury

‘I loved it! My first time ever!! Never ran more than 6k until today!! Thank you!!’ – Cristina Munoz

‘Was a hard run in the heat. But well organised and I enjoyed the atmosphere especially at the finish.’ – Jo Restall

Goody bag

All entrants will receive a free goody bag, filled with quality kit and nutritional goods and finishers will receive an event t-shirt and medal for their achievements. A range of pacers will also be there on the day, covering various times to help you to achieve your time and support you along the way.

Running for Alzheimer’s Society

This year, our leading charity race partner is Alzheimer’s Society. Many people know someone affected by dementia. The society reveals that 850,000 people in the UK will have a form of dementia by 2015 and in less than ten years, this will grow to over a million people. Working to find a cure for this debilitating disease but also to support those living with the condition, the society relies on charity funding to make this happen and we’re absolutely thrilled to be able to help raise funds for the charity through the Series.

Twenty four year-old Ella Gould from Bournemouth will be running in the event for Alzheimer’s Society. Having seen her mother, Jackie, diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease eight years ago, Ella is determined to do all she can to support the work of Alzheimer’s Society and their research into finding a cure for this debilitating disease. Read her story here.

A range of pacers will also be there on the day, covering various times to help you to achieve your time and support you along the way. Meet the pacers here.
