Thanks to everyone who took part in the second Women’s Running 10K of 2014 in Sutton Park, Birmingham. The weather was unpredictable – switching from sunshine to rain and windy conditions, but that didn’t dampen your spirits.

Birmingham Race Results

Hundreds of you came out in full force to take part in this two-loop course of the beautiful and scenic Sutton Park, which was largely flat with just a few small inclines. WR pacers included Fiona Bugler, who paced the sub-50 runners, Sian Robinson pacing sub-55, WR Fitness Editor Anne-Marie Lategan, who paced sub-60 and also led the warm up, and WR Editor-in-Chief Chris Macdonald who paced sub-70. During the race, runners were treated to the sight of a herd of cows, grazing on the grass near the course route (which is not something you can say happens often during a 10K race!), as well as beautiful local scenery and trees.

Every runner got a great goody bag featuring healthy treats from 9bar and a fantastic technical running t-shirt as well as the goody bag itself, which was a drawstring bag made from recyclable materials.

Here’s what you had to say about the race…

‘I’m not sure I’ve ever felt so accomplished before 11.30 on a Saturday morning! Good organisation and nice, helpful marshals, so thanks.’ – Rachael Toon

‘Had a great day today doing my first 10K, everyone was so friendly’ – Emma Reece

‘Brilliant day, great organisation. Loved it’ – Jackie Dowson
