Balancing act: Wood chop

Balancing act: Wood chop tick everything on the list; quads, glutes, hamstrings, back, posture. It will also improve your balance and coordination, by improving the nerve supply between your brain and your muscles.


  • Stand on your left leg and extend your right arm up towards the ceiling.
  • Bend your left knee and bring your right hand down to touch your left foot.
  • Return to the standing position without putting your right foot down.
  • Complete one set on the left before changing over to the right.

Be safe

Keep your tummy muscles tight and focus on one point to aid your balance.
