Wiggle have released a clever online tool to replicate an in-store assessment and recommend shoes from a variety of brands

We’ve gotten very good at doing things from home this year. Working, yoga, shopping…but a shoe assessment? That’s a new one for us!

Wiggle have just launched My Run Shoe Finder, an industry first that allows us runners to replicate an in-store assessment at home.

Created in partnership with a biomechanics expert and running specialist, Richard Felton-Thomas, this clever online service will take users through a series of biomechanical tests that assess ankle mobility, foot rotation, hip flexibility and more.

It will then recommend footwear from a whole host of our favourite brands, including Hoka, New Balance, Adidas, Asics, Mizuno and Saucony, that will support each person’s individual footwear needs to increase comfort and reduce injury on runs. It’s not just road running shoes, either; there’s also a trail running category for those of us who love to take our runs into the wild.

“We understand how time-consuming and confusing it can be to find the right footwear,” says Fran Baratta, Head of Run at Wiggle. “Our My Run Shoe Finder is something a bit different, as it compares multiple brands through the one assessment – and it can be done at home. We hope this will make the whole experience of buying running shoes more positive.”
