Whether you'd like to give your weekend run a V-day vibe or want to do something special for a fellow running lover, we've got some fun and simple ways to share the love this Valentine's Day

We think that Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to send some love to yourself or to others, especially this year. We’ve thought of some lovely ways to bring a dash of running romance to your V-day weekend, all of which can be done from a safe social distance.

Make a Strava heart

Get creative with your running route to draw a GPS heart, either alone or with your lockdown exercise pal. Running separately or in different places? Challenge each other to do one heart half, then stitch the screenshots together later! The best part is that it can be done with any length run, and can be as simple or as ornate as you like – head to for inspiration.

Make a mixtape

Or, you know, a Spotify playlist! Share your favourite running songs with a playlist curated just for them, or craft yourself a Cupid-inspired collection to help you feel the love on your run.

Make a date

If you can’t currently see your running bestie, planning a race rendezvous later down the line is the perfect way to pass the time. Sign up for a virtual race you can complete together across the miles, or book a race place for you both at a real-life event later in the year – visit our round-up for some ideas. If you prefer to run solo, why not think of a race that you’d love to do and treat yourself to a ticket or sign up for updates.
