Hello, lovely runner.
Welcome to Women’s Running. We’re all about encouraging women of all backgrounds to get out there and run. Whether you’re training for your fifth marathon, you want to make the leap from a 10K to a half or you’ve never laced up your trainers before, we’re confident that you’ll be able to find something useful on our website or in the magazine. We aim to be your running coach, your motivator and your trusted news source for all things running. Here’s a little bit about us…
Esther is passionate about promoting running as just about the best thing there is, and empowering women to take ownership of their physical and mental wellbeing. She hated team sports at school, but has always loved (slow) running and swimming, and thoroughly enjoys being punished at early morning bootcamps. Her favourite race distance is half marathon, but she’s recently been shifting gears to marathon, and loves the nutrition, hydration, form and kit nerdiness that comes with that.
Holly writes content for the Women’s Running website and runs our social media channels. She never really considered herself a runner before working with the WR team and discovering that running could, in fact, be brilliant. She ran the Bath Half this year and found the training a fantastic way to deal with stress and anxiety as well as a way to challenge herself and keep fit. She’s now absolutely hooked and is already signed up for next year’s race.
Head of Marketing and Production
Verity is a busy mother of two who tries to fit in a run when she can. The feeling when she gets out for a run is second to none – fresh air, music on, freedom! She feels very strongly that running helps her to be a good role model for her kids who also love to be active. Last year she completed her first half which she was excited and nervous about in equal measure.
Chief Sub Editor
Rachel gets to meet and interview all our inspiring cover stars, so she has one of the best jobs on Women’s Running. She’s also recently become our new chief sub and whip-cracker. Having trained for the Bath Half Marathon again this year, Rachel is really enjoying running again now. She always enjoys running most after training for a race, because she can explore new paths and take the pressure off herself in terms of distance and speed. This year she ended up doing the Virtual Bath Half instead of the ‘real’ one, but ended up enjoying it just as much as the real thing.
Tina has been a health and fitness writer for over 20 years, she has written several books, is a UKA qualified running and athletics coach and mental health champion and is happiest running long in the hills or coaching her team of incredible women on the south coast on Mondays and Fridays.
Magazine designer, husband, father of two and Depeche Mode fan, Alex has previously worked on magazines covering home cinema to veganism, sci-fi to 80s pop music and beyond. He’s currently focused on designing the perfect running feature.
Senior Advertising Executive
Megan joined the Women’s Running team in February 2019. Her role involves exploring the most effective way for brands to access our audience. She’s always had a passion for health and fitness – not only to make those cocktails totally guilt-free but most importantly for the post-workout endorphins. You’ll find her at body pump three times a week when she’s not chasing her best 10k time.
