Running is the one thing that we all like talking about. Every week on the Women’s Running podcast, we talk all things running, women, health and fitness with our own brand of happy, irreverent chat.

In our Workshops, Esther and Holly talk through their training highs and lows, and all the bits and pieces in-between. In Workshop Pro, we invite an expert to join us to help us figure out the confusing worlds of training, recovery, nutrition, health and more. And once a month we talk to an incredible woman from the world of running, from Anna McNuff to Paula Radcliffe, Susie Chan to Nicky Spinks.

So why do we do it? Because we realised that most of the running podcasts we listened to were full of blokes waffling on about quads and cadence (and we realised that we can do that perfectly well ourselves, thank you very much). We want to listen to women who have made a proper difference in running, who have done some incredible running themselves, and who we can have a giggle with – and we couldn’t find a podcast like that, so we made it ourselves.

Right here, we talk about all the things that affect us when we step out the door: sexism, hormones, menopause, food, pelvic floors, relationships, mental health. But. BUT. We will also talk about races, PBs, shoes, training, starting running, enjoying running, finding the fun. And quads and cadence. This is the Women’s Running podcast, and it’s for women who love to run.

Meet the hosts of the Women’s Running podcast

Esther is the editor of Women’s Running. She loves talking about running, and listening to women who are equally passionate about running and all its benefits. She set up the Women’s Running podcast to fill the gap that she found wanting: a podcast that was long enough for a weekend long run, one that celebrated women who ran and who empower other women to run, and one that was informative, interesting and fun. A bit of a tall order! But one we think we’ve managed. She’s always on the look out for new people to interview, so do please get in touch with ideas so we can add them to the list.

Holly joins Esther for the Workshop and Workshop Pro podcast episodes, as she gets expert training advice and shares updates on her running journey. She’s never been the sporty type, but running is the first time she’s felt real joy in getting active. She loves talking about running as well as all the tough questions that come with it, like whether you can watch reality TV while you cross train and how many packets of crisps can fuel a training run. She’s always up for new challenges and for learning new things, and she’s documenting all of it on the podcast.
