Katharine Merry's Half Marathon Challenge!

In 2000 Katharine Merry won the bronze medal at the Sydney Olympic Games, in 2001 she was the fastest woman over the 400m distance but  in 2005,  after a career spanning 20 years, she retired from professional competition.

This year, she’s taking on the Duracell Bunny Challenge, as a pacer, at the Great North Run! And in the lead up to the big race she’s going to be vlogging every step of her running journey!

Running a half marathon may sound like a small feat for a former Olympian, but by Katharine’s own admission, her fitness levels are a long way off what they were 12 years ago…

“It’s a really big challenge. The thought of running a half marathon is terrifying!”

It’s going to be a long road and she’s going to have to dig deep but she’s ready to push her limits and find out what she’s made of! She how she gets on in her vlog series below…
