In 2000 Katharine Merry won the bronze medal at the Sydney Olympic Games, in 2001 she was the fastest woman over the 400m distance but in 2005, after a career spanning 20 years, she retired from professional competition.
This year, she’s taking on the Duracell Bunny Challenge, as a pacer, at the Great North Run! And in the lead up to the big race she’s going to be vlogging every step of her running journey!
Running a half marathon may sound like a small feat for a former Olympian, but by Katharine’s own admission, her fitness levels are a long way off what they were 12 years ago…
