Could you do something amazing to help support people affected by cancer? Something To Look Forward To are looking for runners of all abilities to take on a virtual challenge for charity

Running a race for charity is a lovely way to give even more meaning to your training and race day. We find out about Something To Look Forward To, a charity who are looking for runners to help them support people affected by cancer.

What is Something To Look Forward To?

When Fiona was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 she had the idea to start a charity website that would help people affected by cancer. It wasn’t until her cancer returned in 2013 that Fiona and her husband decided that this time they would make the charity happen.

They launched the charity in 2015, providing a comprehensive website where people with cancer, and their families, can access a variety of free gifts, donated by companies and individuals. These include free breaks in holiday cottages; restaurant meals; hotel stays; theatre tickets; beauty treatments; tickets
for attractions… the list is endless.

Sadly Fiona passed away in February 2021, peacefully and surrounded by her family. It was always Fiona’s wish for the charity to continue and her husband and stepdaughter, continue Fiona’s legacy in her memory.

What impact has Something To Look Forward To had so far?

As of April 2022 the charity has provided gifts with a value of more than £1 million to over 21,000 people affected by cancer.

How can I help?

The charity relies on community fundraising to keep their unique and vital service going. They are looking for runners of all abilities to take on a virtual challenge of their choice. Whether it’s a Couch to 5K or a marathon, your support will enable them to give more people affected by cancer ‘Something To Look Forward To’.

All their gifts and experiences are generously donated by kind and caring individuals and businesses, so if you have a service, skill or product to donate then do get in touch with them.

How do I sign up to run for them?

You can sign up to a virtual challenge or get in touch with them via the Something To Look Forward To website.
