FLANCI Capri Leggings £35.50

Flanci is a go-to brand for quality bright workout clothes. These leggings are comfortable, and they stayed in place for both running and gym workouts and were comfortable when I wore them all day. They have a high waist, flat seams, and a deep thigh pocket for phones and accessories. There’s also a zipped rear pocket and a removable toggle waistband. If you’re looking to be seen, these are the capris for you; the fantastic bright colours will cheer up any run, and the sizing is inclusive, too.

BADASS MOTHER RUNNERS Activewear Leggings £28

Fabulous leggings that tick the boxes for quality, functionality and price. Extremely comfortable with a high-rise waistband, they stay in place whatever you might be doing in them. With moisture wicking and a four-way stretch, they are the most comfortable leggings I’ve ever worn. They’re designed to be 7/8 length but they were full length for me and sat comfortably on my ankle. The large pocket at the back is a bonus for carrying your phone or keys and they wash and dry quickly for a speedy turnaround. They’re available in a range of vibrant colours so don’t blame us if you end up with more than one pair in your basket.

BAM Kennick Side Pocket Leggings £49

Did I mention I’m all about the comfort? Well, these are just as buttery soft as you’d hope and they’re a brilliant sustainable choice too; bamboo is one of the most environmentally friendly fabrics out there. The design of these is fantastic, with that all-important thigh pocket for your phone, exterior visible stitching to die for, and a high, comfortable waistband. I did wear these running, and they perform well, but the softer fabric means some hoiking is necessary on longer distances. But with yoga and HIIT training, they were fabulous. Soft, comfortable, cool, squat-proof fabric that moves around with you; a great option for warmer weather.

These have to be the most comfortable workout leggings I’ve ever worn. Such a smooth material and the higher waistband is always a winner for me. The fit is perfect, they don’t budge, have breathable material, good elasticity and two side pockets which can fit a phone or two, keys and cards. From workouts to just pottering around the house, these leggings will become your new best friend. Good price, good sizing options, and great fit.

ASICS Seamless Tight £58

These are ridiculously soft and lovely to wear. The super high waistband is not really a band; it’s more like a comfy pair of massive pants. Made in a seamless design, these tights are stretchy, soft and giving – and so comfortable. Designed for running, they’re actually better suited to indoor workouts, as there are no pockets or drawcord. I tried a pair that was a size larger than I am, and they were a perfect fit, so that’s worth bearing in mind. But I can’t overstate that comfort.

ASICS Colour Block Cropped Tight £64

Tester: Esther

Made of beautiful skin-hugging, thick, soft fabric, these are part of the new-season Sakura collection that marks some of the best-looking apparel to come out of Asics for the past few years. The fit is spot-on with a nice high waist, and the length hits just past mid-calf if you’re on the lengthy side, as I am. The colour-blocking design is really lovely, too. There’s a small key/card pocket at the back, which is useful, but I would have loved a thigh pocket as well. These don’t have a drawcord either: I find that if leggings are 7/8 or shorter, this isn’t necessary (I realise this sounds odd), but if these hit you at your ankle, you might find they pull down a bit. Otherwise, a solid, good-looking pair of tights.
