Bringing you the best earbuds for your latest running playlist
JABRA Elite Active 75t | £189.99
These are such an enjoyable addition to my running staples. With a selection of ear buds to fit the teeniest of ears (mine!), the fit is secure and comfortable. The sound quality is excellent with both music and audiobooks, and it’s easy to adjust the volume via right ear bud. The left ear bud has a secret surprise – Jabra’s new HearThrough technology. Tap on the bud and you switch from noise cancelling to being able to hear everything around you while still listening in to your tunes. This is great option, especially if you wouldn’t normally wear headphones because of traffic or safety issues. I felt completely safe, and yet still entirely enthralled by the marvellous Women’s Running podcast (plug totally intended).
EDIFIER TWS1 | £32.99
These wireless stereo earbuds have excellent sound, and the simple Pause and Skip control is very easy and effective, just requiring a simple tap on the side of the bud. Setup is simple too: I connected to my phone and got going in no time. There is eight hours of charge on the earphones themselves, plus 24 in the case for all-day adventures, and there are three sizes of bud included to swap and find the best fit for your ear. The noise cancelling is excellent for sound clarity, making them ideal for indoor workouts, and they’re splash and sweatproof which gives some peace of mind.
PHILIPS ST702 TWS Earbuds | £149
I found these to be a superior pair of headphones. With excellent sound quality, I also found it easy to switch tracks while on the move, or to take a call. They come with interchangeable ear tips, so you can get the perfect fit and seal, and the portable charging case is clever, offering 18 hours of charge while also doing a UV cleaning cycle to sanitise them and remove bacteria. Waterproof and sweat proof, they’re perfect for rain-soaked runs and for wearing in the shower.
URBANISTA Athens | £119.99
The Urbanista Athens are completely waterproof ear buds so no matter if you’re swimming, it starts to rain, or they drop in the sea, or a puddle, they will survive. The bass is incredible, making them ideal for summer running and party tunes. There’s a really impressive eight hours’ play time from one full charge, which jumps up to a total of 32 hours’ play time with an additional three charges from the casethey come with (it’s very small and will fi t in a small shorts pocket easily). They feel comfortable in your ear, stay in place while running (with several size options to get your custom fi t) and you’ll defi nitely love the freedom of not worrying about leads fl apping around.
