We’ve run in the fifth version of the Runderwear Original Running Bra, and this is what we thought
RUNDERWEAR Original Running Bra | £50 | Tester: Esther Newman
The best-selling original run bra from Runderwear gets a brand new update with the v5
I have run in Runderwear’s bras for years. Reliably supportive, with a huge range of sizes and in their signature blue, pink or black, I’m going to admit here that I have one in every colour, and they are always the first bra I reach for before a run. The Original is my choice as I’m more modestly boobed, but those of you who have been blessed more generously in the boob department, the Easy-On goes up to an H-cup, so a great deal of us are covered with Runderwear’s offerings. (If you need help with sizing, this is a very simple explanation of how to find your perfect fit.) There are certainly no S-M-L sizes here, thank goodness (and shame on the companies that continue to do this).

This is, as you might expect, the 5th iteration of Runderwear’s iconic bra, and – astonishingly – it just keeps on getting better and better. Each time, they improve on what feels like a perfect bra. This is the info from Runderwear itself:
The new and updated Runderwear Original Running Bra v5 offers the ultimate experience in running comfort. With its enhanced design and improved features it offers more control and support than ever before:
- Wider underband with extra padding for increased comfort and support
- Enhanced performance fabric provides super-soft feel against your skin
- Additional mesh panelling to improve breathability and control temperature
- Classic racerback design for continued support and performance
- Super-soft, lightweight adjustable straps to provide tailored comfort
But what does that mean on the run? This covered, deeper underband is even more comfortable to wear (not that I had issues with V4, if I’m honest). The new design means there are fewer seams against your skin, and the fabric has also been upgraded, with a noticeably softer feel. So yes, those are the changes, but what remains the same is the support and the comfort that you only get with Runderwear bras: this is the one I reach for time and time again: I can rely on it to keep me firmly in place, with no rubbing and no irritation. It’s a bloody stupendous bra.
