With a mega amount of cushioning, these shoes promise to be PUMA's comfiest yet. Kate finds out if they are in her Magnify Nitro SP review
PUMA Magnify Nitro SP | £120 | Tester: Kate Sellers
Max cushion meets max comfort in a pair of shoes engineered to take every run to the next level.
The jazzy PUMA Magnify Nitro SP are an exciting new release, promising their most cushioned ride yet thanks to the thickest piece of NITRO foam used in their whole running collection. They promise responsiveness and versatility, with PUMAGRIP giving traction on every surface.

Mention the words ‘matching set’ to me and I’m instantly charmed – these colourful shoes have coordinating activewear that made me feel like a total pro. They felt oh so comfy, but also gave good energy return thanks to Puma‘s NITRO FOAM.
That being said, for me the foam was a little too thick, and I felt a little bit clumsy at times during the foot strike. I also had a fit issue; although the length was perfect, there seemed to be quite a lot of spare material across the top of the shoe, which made me feel less supported in the toe area.
I’m going to keep running in these over the next few weeks and see how I get on…
As I’ve been wearing these shoes more, they’ve definitely started to adapt to my foot. On my initial wear, I felt as though all that lovely NITRO FOAM wasn’t super responsive, but now my foot has bedded in and I feel better connected to the terrain as I run.
They are still just as comfy as when I first put them on, plus no rubbing or need for plasters – always a win. I’ve really enjoyed wearing them for sunny autumn runs around Bristol. They’ve been nice and speedy on the pavements, and handled gravelly and rocky terrain well too.
