BAM Bamboo baselayer, blue/black urban flower

This top is simply gorgeous! It’s one of those tops you try, then wear over and over, washing it as soon as it’s worn, so it’s ready for your next run. The super soft bamboo jersey fabric feels like a second skin, the monochromatic print is a winter stunner and it lifts sweat away from your skin, leaving you feeling cosy. The side panels give a flattering look, and the back hem is slightly longer to increase warmth. It’s just so pretty. £38, bambooclothing.co.uk

Craft Essential 5” Shorts

These will become your favourite ‘comfy’ running shorts, which you’ll put on again and again. With internal pants you’re guaranteed to feel relaxed and won’t have to worry about getting that wedgie! They’re really lightweight, as well as having super thin material, which makes them so easy to run in, and the subtle dots make them pretty stylish, as shorts go. They’re my favourite this month. £25, craftsportswear.co.uk

Craft Breakaway Jacket

Another super lightweight item from Craft, the jacket stands out due to it’s double chest pocket and double drawstrings at the waist and hem, which give a more feminine, gathered look. I found the (well hidden) mesh back panel was very effective…I sweat a lot and need my kit to be extra breathable. It’s going to give you wind and water protection, so for the price, and considering the extra design elements and double zipped storage, this is a canny investment. £60, craftsportswear.co.uk

Craft Breakaway Tights

These excel due to their execellent fit! Leggings that are baggy, don’t have an all-over tight fit, sag at the crotch or ‘slip down’ so you have to keep pulling them up are so annoying! These have a perfect all-over fit. The fabric is comfortable next to your skin, there are mesh panels behind your knee and on the rear of the waistband, plus you get a zipped rear pocket. £50, craftsportswear.co.uk

OOFOS Recovery Shoe

Kickstart your recovery with this high shoe that features OOfoam technology to take the stress off your tired feet (it absorbs 37 per cent more impact than traditional footwear). The upper is stretchy and gentle on your foot and the sole feels incredible; very cushioned and soft. You can feel your arch being supported, too. Believe me, you won’t want to take them off, whatever you’ve got planned for your day, and they look great with jeans or leggings! £120, oofos.co.uk

Heatholders Long Sleeve Vest

I’ve been wearing this as an everyday baselayer when it’s chilly, as well as a running top at night. If you’re prone to feeling the cold and prefer to wear an extra layer it’s ideal. It shapes really well to your body, keeping your skin warm (it has a tog rating of 0.39). It doesn’t irritate or feel itchy, even when you sweat, and is available in black, white or grey. £21.99, heatholders.co.uk

DHB Training Print Tight

If you want great value for your money, as well as a distinctive print, the DHB range from Wiggle always has something we can’t wait to try out. These training tights were a perfect fit (you can rely on DHB to be spot on for their sizes). You get a really deep waistband, which feels super comfortable. With a high percentage of elastane in the Italian fabric, they really snap tight to your physique. Great breathability, too. £35, wiggle.co.uk

Saucony Open Back Slub Tank

If you like loose-fitting tops, you’ll love the Slub Tank. It’s stunning, and was made for you to show off your skills in your gym or S&C workouts. It has a loose fit, it’s not too short, has a low, open back (ideal for showing off your fav sports bra) and a distinctive fleck design. The fabric really is so soft – there’s nothing we can fault this top on. £40, saucony.com

2XU Mid-rise Reflect Compression Tights

For safety, these tights are an absolute must. 2XU compression tights offer superior compression; these don’t just feel ‘tight’, you can feel the strength of the PWX fabric supporting your muscle groups in your lower and upper leg. The fit is exceptional, from the ankle up to the deep waistband (which doesn’t dig in and is more supportive than in most leggings). The whole of the front half of the waistband is also a ‘hidden’ pocket, big enough for gloves, phone and keys. With their distinctive, calf-high, intense 360 degree reflective details, and excellent breathability of the stretchy fabric, you really feel you’ve got your money’s worth. £85, www.2xu.com/uk

Columbia Techy Hybrid Fleece

Wrap up warm on your way to your next race in this hybrid fleece, that features extra insulation on the front and back panels to protect your core, as well as throughout the hood. It’s even light enough to run in when the weather is really foul, especially in warm-ups when it’s sub-zero, such as cross-country races. I loved the soft, fleecy arms and side panels – plus the high zip, which provided ultimate protection on the windy, high points of the South Down’s Way, where I tested it on a very cold run. £100, www.cotswoldoutdoor.com

TheraPearl Knee Wrap

At last! An easy-to-use hot and cold pack that will relieve your aches and pains, without the need of any drugs. The PearlTechnology delivers either heat or cold to affected areas, and a handy, flexible Velcro strap keeps the wrap comfortably in place. This is perfect for your runner’s knee! Chill it in the fridge or freezer for analgesic cold – the pack holds its therapeutic temperature for a full 20 minutes so you get fast, effective relief. Or you can warm it up in the microwave. With two dancers and a gymnast in the house, I have to fight for it when I want to use it! £7.99, boots.com

Helly Hansen Lifa Merino Seamless ½ Zip

When the temperatures really drop you’ll be protected by the two-layer construction in this performance baselayer, with Lifa Stay Warm Technology to ensure you can keep up your training, whatever the winter throws at you. It’s constructed from 100 per cent merino wool, feels gorgeous next to the skin, and is a seamless top, so no chafing to worry about. Whatever your outdoor activity, including skiing, this will be an essential winter baselayer. £80, hellyhansen.com

Deep Freeze Pain Relief Glide on Gel

Keep this in your kit bag for drug-free relief for your niggles. We all know and love Deep Freeze; this latest addition to the range uses cold therapy to soothe your muscle and joint pains. We are all going to suffer from this at some stage – better get to the shops! £4.99, available from your high-street pharmacy or grocery store
