All you need for a safe and stylish run in the sun! Here are our July Essentials...
1. NIKE AeroBill Tailwind A.I.R. cap | £26.95
This super-lightweight, sweat-wicking cap is perfect for keeping the sun out of your eyes while you run. Reflective and breathable, this is one practical hat – plus, the gorgeous design by Nike artist-in-residence Cody Hudson is so stylish.
2. MAAREE Solidarity High-Impact Sports Bra | £59
We’ve been big fans of MAAREE for a long time: these sports bras are innovative, comfortable and supportive. The Solidarity High-Impact bra is perfect for the bigger busted among you, available in sizes ranging from 32C to 38G. The pressure is distributed evenly across your boobs for added comfort and the support extends to upwards motion, too – ideal for running.
3. LULULEMON Swiftly Tech Racerback 2.0 | £45
Lululemon use the term ‘anti-stink’ to describe this technical top, which caught our attention immediately. The breathable fabric is designed to keep you feeling fresh whether you’re running or cross-training, and the flattering length and cut give you comfortable coverage that won’t ride up or shift around as you run. It’s just a lovely top, really.
4. TROPIC SKINCARE Great Barrier Sun Lotion | £28
Protecting your skin is vital if you’re going to be running outside during the hot summer months, and this sun lotion from Tropic helps to protect the environment, too. With an SPF of 50+, water resistance and a hydrating formula, this has got you covered whatever your lifestyle and it has none of the nasty chemicals that damage our reefs.
5. VRUK Tropical Summer Illusion Leggings | £30
Virtual Racing UK have recently launched a 3S Illusion apparel range and it’s absolutely gorgeous. These comfy Spandex leggings are a highlight, with a stunning tropical print (perfect for summer running) and flattering side panels. The high drawstring waist makes them ideal for running and they’re also squat-proof, so you can wear them for your gym sessions, too.
6. STANCE Feel360 Solid Wool Tab socks | £13
Running socks are massively underrated in our humble opinion. If you’re still wearing a pair of standard trainer socks on your long runs then we highly recommend giving these a try – the reinforced toe and heel give them much more durability and the cushioning will make all the difference. Bye, blisters!
7. ASICS Novablast Modern Tokyo running shoe | £120
If you need a neutral shoe, these should be on your list. The FLYTEFOAM BLAST midsole makes for a comfortable ride, and the rubber outsole is super durable. Plus, this lovely mint green/white design is part of their Tokyo Olympics range, with a modern feel that would look just as good with your jeans as it would with your running leggings.
