Lovely Christmas gifts for the sporty nutrition nut in your life

A traditional stocking filler it is not, but we’ve never claimed to follow the herd. There’s nothing over £35 in this hand-picked selection of edibles, but each and every one is worth its weight in gold if it helps you prep, run and recover more effectively. Just grab a highlighter, circle them all and pass the mag to your loved ones.

Not what you’re looking for? Try one of these:

1. MISSION high performance tea blend | £14.40

Backed by GB athletes, Mission Tea’s hot and cold brews help fuel runners through winter. Designed as a replacement for coffee and energy drinks, it helps you avoid sugar and caffeine crashes, with a mix of Argentinian yerba mate, matcha and rooibos.

2. HUEL vegan meals | £2.36 per meal

Huel’s Hot and Savoury meals are fantastic when you’re in a rush but want something healthy. With 24g of plant-based protein and 26 vits and mins per meal, plus loads of fibre, they contain rice, quinoa, vegetables, herbs and spices, and come in thai green curry and tomato & herb flavours. That’s Boxing Day lunch sorted.

3. PRECISION HYDRATION 1500 electrolyte tablets | £8.99

If you’re doing a lot of miles, or have a high sweat rate, put these PH 1500 tabs on your list. When combined with 500ml of water, it makes a strong electrolyte drink. Good for race prep, recovery and festive hangovers.

4. SUPERNOVA Vegan Life Powder Naked 00 | £35

This is a natural post-workout drink that lessens fatigue and inflammation, and boosts immunity by combining adaptogens such as ashwagandha, maca, reishi, chaga, camu camu (try saying those after you’ve had a few sherries) with plant protein. It has no added flavours, sweeteners, gumsor additives, either.

5. NGX nutrition shakes | From £99.99 for a DNA test

It sounds like science fiction, but this is an investment in your health. Ultimately, it’s a shake, but one that’s bespoke to you. Based on a DNA test to see how your body responds to nutrients, NGX mix a powder that contains all the things your body needs to fuel and recover at its best.

6. GREAT LAKES Collagen | £29.95

A tasteless, odourless and colourless supplement made from protein and amino acids, which dissolves easily in drinks. Sure, protein helps build muscle mass, but it does much more besides: think supple joints and stronger connective tissues, meaning injuries are prevented and recovery times shortened. [Whispers] Expect good skin and soft hair too.
