This year's perfect Christmas gifts for active people

Yes, we know. We all want world peace, safety for women runners everywhere, equal pay, some upper body strength and a lie-in for Christmas. But on the off-chance that they don’t happen by the end of December, we’ve made a list of some of the kit that makes us feel happy and powerful – which is definitely a Christmas gift worth giving or receiving.

Whether you’re shopping for your friend who is always doing something active, or earmarking some cross-training kit to show to your significant other, here’s are this year’s fave exercise accessories…

1. JANE GUN Tie Dye Smoky Charcoal Premium Seamless Activewear Gym Set | £50 (top & leggings set)

Jane Gun is right on target with this tie-dye two-piece. Not sure how it pulls it off, but tie dye is the perfect mix of edgy, bohemian, chilled and urban, and there’s a dollop of nostalgia vibes in there too. We love the dark grey and can imagine wearing it to the gym with trainers and then to the pub with biker boots.

2.FITBAKES Selection Box | £24.99

In some houses, a Selection Box is a Christmas must-have; after all, who doesn’t love a bumper sweet treat in their stocking? Why not upgrade this year from the chocolate in the discount aisle to this, a Fitbakes Selection Box, which contains 10 packs of the high-fibre, low-sugar cakes. Nine flavours including Belgian Chocolate Crunch, Lemon Drizzle, Carrot and Jaffa Orange.

3. RED ORIGINAL Women’s Long Sleeve Pro Change Robe | £149.95

If you’re one of the many of us who got into outdoor swimming during lockdown, this is ideal. You’ll never need anyone to hold your towel while you wriggle out of your cassie again! This model is light weight, long, packable and also has matching versions for partners and kids – the perfect stress-free swim solution.
Available in S-L

4. BONDI COFFEE Workout Booster Blend | £24.99

You’ll be full of beans after a sachet of this caffeine-powered performance drink. It tastes like barista-made coffee but is stuffed full of superfoods and essential vits to help you train better and recover faster. Come on, let’s brew this!

5. ASICS Gel Cumulus 23 | £130

Looking to up your mileage once the tinsel’s packed away? Or maybe you’re signed up for a spring marathon? These hard-wearing runners will put a spring in your step with their updated Asics Gel technology. Well priced and water-repellent.

6. BAM High Waist 7/8 Enduro Bamboo leggings | £55

We shorter humans were long ignored by the fit kit industry and we had to endure a little (Young People, look away now) Nora Batty wrinkle at the bottom of all our leggings, but – praise be! – the 7/8 length was born and now we’re all happy. These gorgeous leggings by BAM are a case in point; soft, strong and not so very long. And don’t worry if you have been blessed with longer legs – they also come in a full-length version. Perfection.
