Brooks’ legendary Glycerin gets an update

Read Time:   |  July 22, 2020

Version 18 of the famous shoe is, astonishingly, even more plush than ever!

Brooks Glycerin 18 launched 1 July this year, and it’s everything we’ve come to expect of this super squidgy bouncy shoe – a real favourite among the Women’s Running team.

With even more DNA LOFT in the midsole, it promises the ultimate softness and, as Brooks says, “supreme comfort” without losing responsiveness or durability during the run. The transition zone – the bit where you push your foot off the ground – feels incredibly soft and smooth. An OrthoLite® sockliner is an incredibly comfortable place to put your foot. A plush interior liner surrounds the foot and moves and expands with every stride. The engineered mesh upper enhances the fit thanks to 3D Fit Print that delivers a highly flexible structure.

“The Glycerin 18 has some great updates. Based on the feedback of dedicated Glycerin fans, we created a shoe that is lighter, softer, more flexible and therefore more comfortable”, explains Hugo Chouissa, Brooks Footwear Merchandiser EMEA. “The full length super soft DNA LOFT cushioning offers great comfort. Over foot, the internal stretch bootie moves and expands to enhance the fit and the breathability of the double jacquard. We think that fans of cushioned shoes, will really enjoy the updates we made,” Chouissa continues.

We’ve got a pair (we do realise how lucky we are) and the fit and comfort is second to none. Now, this isn’t a racer, so don’t expect a hard sole designed to push you round a track – this is light and comfy, and designed to get you through those road miles as though you’re running on clouds. This is the shoe you can do your mileage in – it’s crying out for a long weekend run. And the design? Well, we’ve got the black and rose gold, and it has to be said, they are proper lush.
