Calling all women to unite and help beat cancer sooner, Cancer Research has today launched the UK’s first women-only marathon.
Standing alongside Race for Life 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy series of events, Race for Life Marathon is designed for women who didn’t think they had a Marathon in them. Every entrant has their own story and will be encouraged to wear a back sign to celebrate and remember loved ones who have fought cancer.
Uniting in a common goal through running, women will raise vital funds for research in the charge against cancer. Anthony Newman, Director of Product Marketing at Race for Life said:
“Every pound raised at the Race for Life Marathon will help fund our life-saving research into all 200 types of cancer, affecting men, women and children.
“By encouraging women to take part in the UK’s first women-only marathon and fundraise for us, we hope to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
Participants can choose between a full or half marathon. The event will take place on Sunday 4th October in Lee Valley Park, London and the race is now open for entry.
The entry fee is £39.99 for full marathon and £24.99 for half marathon and includes a sign up pack with a Race for Life t-shirt included.
