If you’re planning your 2016 race diary, here’s six race-entry openings worth noting down to save missing out and ensure cheapest possible entry!

Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon

Entries opened up last week for the Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon-Sheffield, taking place 10 April. This inaugural event hit the Steel City on April 12 this year and proved an immediate success, attracting thousands of runners. Entries are now priced at £30.10. Enter here.

Keswick Mountain Festival

This week, Keswick Mountain Festival opened up entries for 2016, announcing its biggest ever programme of outdoor and sporting activities. The 2016 Keswick Mountain Festival sports programme, running from Thursday 19 until Sunday 22 May, will include popular races from recent years, plus the addition of some new events. Running and triathlon events will take place on both Saturday and Sunday, to give people the opportunity to enter more than one race in the same discipline over the weekend. The popular Keswick Mountain Festival Trail Races and Triathlons will return, with a variety of distances on offer and changes to some courses. This year’s event sold out well before the festival, so it’s worth booking now. Everyone who books a place on a KMF sporting event will also be entitled to claim one free ticket to attend either the Friday or Saturday night concert in the Keswick Mountain Festival Village on Crow Park. Early bird pricing ends 5 November. Enter here.
