Eddie Izzard is taking on the Run For Hope challenge on Zwift – and wants you to join in, too!
Comedian, actor and activist Eddie Izzard is encouraging runners to ‘Make Humanity Great Again’ by taking part in a 31-day run challenge this January.
Eddie is genderfluid and stated in 2020 that she would like to be referred to using she/her pronouns.
Eddie is no stranger to a marathon challenge, having run 43 marathons in 51 days for Sport Relief in 2009 despite having no long-distance running experience to speak of. She is now taking on 31 marathons in just 31 days, as well as performing 31 streamed comedy gigs, to raise money for charities that “make humanity great”.
She’ll be completing her challenge with Zwift, the app for treadmill runners, so you can join in too.
How to get involved
Firstly, we want to stress that you don’t have to run 31 marathons – the challenge is designed for runners of all abilities, so you can set your own goal. Now that’s a relief!
Once you’ve set your challenge – say, running a 5K every day for 31 days – you need to download Zwift and follow Eddie on the Companion App. Then, when you’re ready to run, simply click ‘join another Zwifter’ and join Eddie for her daily challenge.
